The year 2022, a year of important decisions

The Cluster of the Automotive Industry of Catalonia (CIAC) has held the last Top Management Meeting of 2021.

The welcome, which has been in charge of the President of CIAC, Josep Maria Vall, has been an assessment of the year 2021, "more positive than 2020, but without forgetting the obstacles with which the sector has to deal: problems in transport, supply of raw materials, lack of microchips, the consequent stoppages of manufacturers and the fall in demand and pandemic production. All this in the midst of the most important transformation process in recent years that is leading the sector towards electric vehicles and other energy sources".

The Automotive Talent Show has also been discussed, which has had a "very positive assessment" in the words of the Cluster Manager, Josep Nadal, and that "there are already ideas to incorporate in the 2022 edition".

In the turn of the companies, they have also valued 2021, and the adjective has varied depending on the company, although none has qualified 2021 as a good year. What many did agree on is that 2022 will be a year of important decisions to be made in order to maintain the muscle and be in the best possible shape for when the Catalan automotive industry emerges from the tunnel of problems in which it is immersed.
