Hello and welcome to Cluster Talks, CIAC's new podcast where cluster managers share their experiences and adventures of being cluster managers.

In today?s podcast, CIAC?s Manager, Josep Nadal, is having a conversation with Antonio Novo, Manager of IDiA, a cluster focused on investigation, development and innovation and also, president of the European Cluster Alliance. They have shared their experiences and points of view as cluster managers over the last few years and also Antonio is sharing a few tips with us on how to navigate through Europe.

Today?s conversation is focused on how to navigate the European sphere, focusing on how to propel clusters as a driving force. With Antonio we have learnt that it is very important to unite firstly regionally, then nationally and lastly, at a European level so that we can all have a common voice to be heard.

In this episode it is really highlighted the importance of what a cluster community can currently provide. Antonio encourages us to participate in working groups, since great initiatives for the benefit of the industry are born from there: ?We need quality in the contribution, it?s not only about expertise but willingness to work?.

Lastly, we would like to mention one last quote: ?If you don?t have information, you cannot influence?. Which makes us think about, let?s help each other out in anything we can, even if it?s filling out a survey. Also, with these contributions, the work made by clusters can be boosted and it can help clusters be heard.

Once again, thank you Antonio for sharing your experiences and knowledge with us.

Hello and welcome to Cluster Talks, CIAC's new podcast where cluster managers share their experiences and adventures of being cluster managers.

In today?s podcast, CIAC?s Cluster Manager, Josep Nadal, is having a conversation with Eija Hämäläinen, Manager of the Automotive Cluster of Oulu. They have shared their experiences and points of view as cluster managers over the last few years. Today?s conversation is focused on how to stay sustainable within a cluster, how to operate work groups and how to stay valuable as a cluster. We would like to highlight communication as the key to being a good cluster manager. As Eija said ?You need to communicate with your associates in order to help them?

Also, we would like to highlight a direct quote from Eija: ?When I was promoted to the position of Cluster Manager it was like somebody pushed me into the cold water and said: swim, survive? to refer to the high difficulty that entails being a cluster manager at the beginning.

To finish this episode, we would also like to end up with this direct quote from Josep ?It is very important to get support, personal support and career counseling. You need to take care of yourself?

Thanks to Eija Hämäläinen for sharing your experiences with us.
